The Origin Fruit Group started in January 2006 to establish a specialised sales and marketing operation in Europe for a large South African fruit producer. Under the flag "Origin Fruit Direct"or "OFD" this initiative has developed into a group company with offices in Rotterdam, Shanghai, Chile and Spain.  In 2008 the Asian office opened as Origin Direct Asia with main office in Shanghai and offices in Guangzhou and in Capetown South Africa.

The Origin Fruit Group has expanded their procurement base in the southern hemisphere by adding South America, as well as India, Philippines, Australia, US, Egypt, New Zealand and many more to its existing South African supply base and continues to pursue new opportunities in the development of new product varieties.

With this expansion in the Group's procurement base, we are now able to provide our customers all over Europe and Asia with a longer sustainable supply-season. The Origin Fruit Group's mission is to optimise the supply-link between its growers and customers. We strive for top quality procurement, offering our customers the best quality of fruit and service within their exact specifications.
